A new, independent SEND school in Carlton has been granted authority to open by the Department for Eduction - and the first images showing the completed interior have been released.
Melrose Education has officially announced the opening of Meadow School, a new specialist school scheduled to welcome its first learners in Autumn 2026. Meadow School is based at the former Holy Family High School and will support learners aged 11 to 16 with Education, Health and Care Plans, learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder, autism spectrum condition and Asperger’s Syndrome. The school aims to provide a positive and purposeful learning environment. It will offer GCSE programmes, vocational pathways and social skills development. As the latest addition to the Melrose Education group of independent SEND schools, Meadow School has been created to provide a nurturing, aspirational and highly supportive learning environment for children and young people with a range of additional needs. The school will focus on delivering outstanding education, personalised support and positive outcomes that enable every learner to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Meadow School's vision is built around the Melrose belief that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Through an innovative curriculum, specialist teaching approaches and a strong emphasis on wellbeing, the school will offer a tailored educational experience designed to meet the unique needs of each learner. Working in close partnership with families, local authorities and communities, Meadow School aims to become a centre of excellence for specialist education.
